Thank you all for a beautiful 2017 summer season at Truro Vineyards.
This season marked our tenth year of quality family winemaking in Truro, and it was a delight to lift a glass with so many of you throughout the summer, reflecting on how we’ve grown over the past decade: our vines are thriving, our staff has expanded, our wine portfolio has deepened, and our connection with the town where we do our work has increased far beyond our early hopes and expectations.
As we move into fall, a bit of color in the trees and a cooler breeze rolling in off the water, we’re so pleased to send along to you our 2015 Riesling, our 2016 Muscat, and our 2015 Merlot—three wines that embody the best of summer’s end and the beginning of the autumnal season.
We hope you’ll enjoy these wines with friends and family, and we look forward to seeing you here in Truro sometime soon. Our grounds are open everyday through October, and Friday -Monday in November and December. In 2018, we’re excited to announce new open hours every weekend, Friday - Sunday, in January, February, and March. Our doors are now open year round.
With warmest wishes for what’s to come,
The Roberts Family
2015 Riesling
Our off dry Riesling opens with a pleasant snap of crisp acidity, followed by aromas of green apple and a finish rich with notes of honeycomb. This wine captures the last warm days of September and the coziness of early fall. Enjoy it with oysters or clams on the half shell, or pair with spicy dishes of chicken or shrimp.
2016 Muscat
This off dry, semi sweet Muscat opens with fresh floral notes and boasts additional clean citrus flavor. Enjoy this refreshing wine on its own, or pair with fruits and cheeses. Our newest varietal is pure party; we crafted it with celebration in mind—our own 2017 tenth anniversary!
2015 Merlot
Our Merlot is the perfect way to mark the start of fall: fruit forward with jammy notes, this wine offers a smooth velvet finish. Extended open vat fermentation and aging up to 18 months in American oak barrels yield a rich and balanced wine that pairs well with roasted and grilled meats, including sirloin, pork, and lamb dishes.
